Art Rocks Chair

Art Rocks is an exciting new summertime promotion presented by the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and the Kirkland Art Center. From July 12th to September 20th the sidewalks of Clinton will become a walking art gallery with 27 Adirondack style rocking chairs that have each been painted with the original artwork of local artists. Maps showing the location of the chairs will be available inside most businesses or shops and they will be on display during regular business hours. If you would like to own one of the art rockers you may place a bid on it and the auction procedures are printed below.

AUCTION ENDS SEPTEMBER 20, 2007 AT 4:00 P.M.
HOW TO BID ON AN ART CHAIR

  1. Each chair has a bid sheet located inside the business or shop where it is displayed.
  2. Go inside and tell them you would like to place a bid on the chair at their location and they will give you the form to fill out.
  3. Opening bid for all chairs is $150.00.  Bids may be raised in $10.00 increments.
  4. Leave your completed form with the shop keeper.
  5. You may also place a bid via e-mail at renauld@adelphia.netE-mail bids will only be accepted through Wednesday, September 19, 2007.  Bids will be updated periodically on the Village of Clinton website (www.villageofclinton.com) but for the most accurate bid you should contact the store or business where the chair is located.
  6. The closing date for Art Rocks is Thursday, September 20 at 4:00 p.m.  It is recommended that you appear in person at the store or business where the chair you would like to bid on is located.  Then you will be present to place your highest bid.   Phone bids will not be accepted.  If you are unable to appear in person you may contact either Carol Renauld (315.853.3868) or Annette Clarke (315.853.8871) about placing a "Reserve Bid".  "Reserve Bids" will be accepted through Wednesday, September 19, 2007.  Please refer to directions below for placing a "reserve bid".
  7. Contact Annette Clarke at the KAC (315.853.8871) or Carol Renauld (315.853.3868) if you have any further questions regarding the ART ROCKS auction.  

Reserve Bids will be accepted through Wednesday, September 19, 2007.  After that date you must be present yourself at the end of the auction.

  1. Your name, address and phone number for contacting you. (You may also want to give us a cell number if possible).
  2. The name of the artist who painted the chair you would like to bid on and the highest dollar amount you are willing to pay.
  3. A current credit card number with expiration date.  If you do not live close by we will charge your credit card if you are the highest bidder but for those who do live close but cannot be present at the end of the auction we prefer payment by cash or check.
  4. If you are the highest bidder but cannot pick up the chair yourself, we need the name and number of someone local who can do that for you.
  5. To place your "reserve bid" please call either Carol Renauld (315.853.3868) or Annette Clarke (315.853.8871).  Happy Bidding!
